Main MenuYork Repair, an established and growing company, is looking for a machinist who will do precision metal cutting, grinding work, and skilled manual machining. This individual will utilize machinery such as lathes, milling machines, drills, boring mills and grinders as well as be familiar with welding practices.
Essential Duties: machine parts.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in finding creative solutions to difficult machining problems.
- Performs milling operation (e.g. drilling, tapping, boring, etc.).
- Performs lathe work (e.g. turning, boring, threading, and reaming).
- Performs tool-post grinding operations.
- Familiar with arc, MIG, and TIG welding as well as brazing.
Pay & Qualifications:
$20.00-$22.00 based on experience
Qualifications:Ideal applicants will possess a high school diploma, plus two years of experience in a variety of machine tool technology and/or education.
Special Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Proficient with a variety of shop tools.
- Familiarity with micrometers.
- Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job-related training and operational and safety procedures.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Ability to lift 50lbs and adequately carry out a range of physical labor.
