Warranty Policy

Repaired Items

York Repair warrants that all repairs performed in house will be free from defects and workmanship on parts supplied and labor provided for a period of one year from the date of delivery except as noted below under exceptions. This warranty is provided with the condition that the customer operates the equipment as recommended by the original equipment manufacturer and does not exceed rated load or capacity of equipment and has normal usage and operating conditions. Also, that the defects are not caused by neglect, improper installation, maintenance, or environment. All items to be considered for warranty must be returned to York for initial disassembly. Any disassembly or repair by unauthorized personnel will void the warranty. If the item repaired does not operate in accordance with the foregoing warranty, York will refund the price of the goods or service or will provide for the reworking or replacing, at our option, of the apparatus or parts to return it to operating condition during normal working hours.

Sub Contracted Items

Items that are sub contracted to a separate company for repair will be covered according to each individual 3rd party repair company’s own individual repair warranty policy. York will communicate with the 3rd party company and work to process any potential warranty claims. However, York does not offer any warranty of the items beyond that which the sub contracted company is willing to extend.

New Products

When selling new products, the warranty will be as authorized by the original equipment manufacturer. The individual warranty for each item sold is available upon request and is generally available in the manufacturer’s literature or on their website. York is an authorized service partner for many manufacturers and may have the opportunity to process the warranty at its repair facility. The decision of the manufacturer to grant warranty is solely the decision of the manufacturer and York extends no warranty beyond that granted by the manufacturer.

Asset / Motor Management Customers

For asset and motor management customers, the repair warranty for in house repairs will begin on the date of installation, not the date of delivery. The installation date will need to be verified and approved by York. This warranty will not be extended if the repaired item has components with a shelf life that are required for correct operation. Examples of shelf life components are batteries that are required to store electronic data.


The following types of repairs will only receive a 90 day warranty due to limited availability of replacement parts and the repetitive and rugged work environment that the items are commonly subjected:

Hand tools, Analog Monitor Repairs, Barcode Scanners, Cylinders, Valves, Welders, Gaging and Instrumentation, Cables, and other items as communicated with the customers.

In some cases, the customer may opt for a quick repair due to massive downtime costs or the need for the item to only operate for a short period of time. If the proper time is not given to complete the repair to our normal high quality standards, the customer will be notified of any reduction of warranty on the repair. This will be discussed with the customer in advance and will be documented on the customers work order.


York makes no warranty, except that of title, or representation of any kind whatsoever, expressed or implied, except as contained herein. All implied warranties, including any warranty of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are hereby disclaimed. York excludes all warranties for merchantability, and buyer agrees to take goods on an “as is” basis. York limits buyer’s remedies to the replacement of non-conforming goods or parts. York warrants that parts supplied or distributed by it will be as specified and extends no warranty, whatsoever, beyond the warranties, if any, which may be extended by the original manufacturer of the parts, which warranties are the sole responsibility of the original manufacturer and not York. The total liability of York with respect to this or any prior or subsequent order shall not exceed the purchase price of the part upon which liability is placed. York or its supplier shall in no event be liable to the Buyer or any beneficiary of this order for any consequential, incidental, indirect, special or punitive damages. York shall not be liable for any default or delay in performance caused, directly or indirectly, by any cause beyond York’s reasonable control.
